HUSTOPECE U BRNA BRANCH
We were fortunate to have a special train on February 28, 2010 and the following photos were taken:

The branch runs from Sakvice in Southern Moravia to Hustopece u Brna a small Czech town. It is another classic Czech branch, currently totally anachronistic with little or no passengers.

The branch is 7 km long with no stations in between and the journey time is ten minutes or an average speed of 27 m.p.h. (42 k.p.h.)

Normal service is a Class 809 or 810 generally the latter and is one man operated.

In 2010 there were 19 trains on weekdays each way with the first from Sakvice at 0131 and 0411 and more or less hourly thereafter generally at 02 or 04 past the hour. Return trains from Hustopece are 0358, 0450 and hourly at either 43 or 45 past the hour. Sakvice is on the main Praha to Breclav line with a hourly express service and half hourly including locals.
